German commercial TV group ProSiebenSat.1 will surprise its viewers at this year’s Christmas with free reception of the HD versions of its free-to-air channels.

Sat.1 HD, ProSieben HD, kabel eins HD, sixx HD and ProSieben Maxx HD will be offered unencrypted for three days nationwide across all platforms via cable, satellite and IPTV.

The switch-off of the encryption through which the channels will reach more than 15 million households will take place in the night to December 24, 2014 and end in the morning of December 27, 2014.

De vrijgave naar FTA (geen smartcard nodig) zal plaatsvinden in de nacht van 23 naar 24 december. Na 26 december zal weer een smartcard nodig zijn om de HD zenders te blijven volgen.

De genoemde HD zenders zijn via de frequentie 11 464 MHz horizontaal (DVB-S2, symbolrate SR 22 000, foutcorrectie FEC 2/3, 8PSK) op 19 graden oost te vinden. Een mooi cadeautje uit Duitsland voor schotelbezitters in Nederland en Vlaanderen.
